Last month I went to Haiti with an organization called Housetops for Haiti. They’re a new organization with a simple vision: to replace rusty leaky roofs for families in need and share the love of Jesus. It was my first time in Haiti. It’s a beautiful country with beautiful people. They could use a few more nice roads. We worked in Les Cayes, about 120 miles West of Port au Prince, which is a 5-6 hour drive. On rough, super crowded roads. Crammed in the back of trucks. It was a great trip and a nice escape from the cold winter weather. Here’s a short video I made followed by some photos. Eden | Six Months

It’s hard to believe Eden has been with us for six months. Our tiny little baby has gotten so big. She has so much hair, sits up on her own, has begun eating food and can scoot backwards under any couch or chair. Oh yeah, and she LOVES books. It sounds ridiculous that a six month old can favor one author over another, but she definitely does. She loves books written by Eric Carle. We rotate probably 60 books that we read to her and read probably 20-25 each day. So, she gets plenty of other authors read to her, but she enjoys his book more than any. She also gets a fair share of Spanish books every week, her favorite is Winnie the Pooh looking for something yellow to eat (I don’t remember the title). She has so much personality, is always happy, loves phones and remotes way too much and does hilarious stuff every day. We’re so blessed and thankful to be her parents. Here are a few pictures we took for her six month birthday.

Mattix | First birthday

I made family photos of Matt, Julie, Jaiden and Mattix last fall when Mattix was a brand new little guy. He just turned one so we walked around at Rock City for awhile and shot some pictures, then Mattix destroyed a cake. Amanda and I had a lot of fun hanging out last night.

32 Weeks

We stepped outside late yesterday evening to shoot a few pictures really quick. Most of the maternity pictures have been made within a 1 minute walk from our house. These are no exception. This is directly across the street from our house and something we have to look at everyday, and everyday that I look at this junk I wish the owners would cut down the ridiculous overgrowth. But, yesterday when we went out it looked different to me… like a good spot to shoot a few pictures. It’s funny how differently you see things when you have a camera in hand.

Our baby girl will be here so soon! We can’t wait. Turns out choosing a name for a person is slightly more difficult than naming a dog. Slightly. It took us forever to decide on Hurley for our dog. With the baby, we have a few things in mind and keep adding more to the “How are we ever going to decide on one of these” list. I guess eventually we’ll just know.
